My experience at the CBSE ZONALS
When I travelled to Haridwar for the CBSE Zonals (North Zone 1), I felt a mix of excitement and nerves. The city’s ghats and the sound of the Ganga made the place feel special, and I reminded myself that I was there to represent my school with pride. On the first morning, walking into the pool complex with my team, I promised myself I would give my best in every race.
My schedule was packed. I swam the 50m, 100m, and 200m breaststroke, the 100m butterfly, the 200m freestyle, and two relays—one medley and one freestyle. Each event tested me in a different way. The 50m breaststroke was all about a quick launch and a clean finish, while the 200m breaststroke needed steady pacing and calm breathing. The 100m butterfly pushed my shoulders and lungs, and the 200m freestyle demanded smooth turns and strong kicks. In the relays, I felt the strongest—cheers from my teammates made me swim faster, and our changeovers were tight and focused.
I placed in the top five in all my events. Hearing my name on the results board again and again filled me with confidence. More than the rankings, I learned how to handle pressure, support my team, and respect my competitors. As we left Haridwar, I felt grateful for the experience and determined to train harder for the next meet.
